Attorney ProfilesAllison Grant | EmailAllison Grant is a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation and Construction Litigation practice groups, and she also heads the firm's Chinese Drywall Litigation practice group.
Ms. Grant's practice includes a broad range of complex business and commercial litigation, including construction defects, business torts, contractual disputes, probate and real estate litigation, and all aspects of Chinese drywall law (litigation, remediation and settlement agreements, escrow disputes, foreclosure defense, mortgage forbearances/abatements and insurance issues).
Ms. Grant received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was on the Dean's List and was an Editor of the Entertainment and Sports Law Review. Ms. Grant was also a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Book Award for Trusts and Estates. Ms. Grant received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami. While at the University of Miami, Ms. Grant was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and received the Bryce Finley Ryan Award for outstanding academic achievement.
Ms. Grant is admitted to practice before all state courts in Florida, as well as the United States Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the United States Supreme Court.

Representation of homeowners in the first lawsuit filed against a homeowner's insurer for denial of a claim for damages caused by Chinese drywall.

Representation of estate in dispute against spouse regarding the interpretation of an antenuptial agreement with respect to subsequently jointly-titled property.

Representation of an insurer in an action for declaratory relief regarding obligation to defend and indemnify insured who had notice of potential claims prior to executing CGL application.

Representation of tortfeasor in indemnification and contribution action brought by insurer which funded multimillion dollar settlement involving carbon monoxide poisoning.

Representation of Palm Beach County voters challenging "butterfly ballots" used in the 2000 Presidential Election.
PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS
Ms. Grant is a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (South Palm Beach Chapter), the South Palm Beach County Bar Association, and the West Boca Chamber of Commerce. She is at the forefront of legal issues involving the recently-emerging Chinese drywall crisis and is a member of the Task Force For Chinese Drywall. Ms. Grant has appeared on local television and national radio programs discussing Chinese drywall. She was a panelist at the "Chinese Drywall Trends in South Florida Real Estate" seminar in Miami on September 22, 2009. Future speaking engagements include HarrisMartin's Chinese Drywall Insurance Conference -- "The Financial Impact of Drywall-Related Losses - Insurance and Other Strategic Considerations" -- which will be held in Miami Beach on October 22, 2009, and the Chinese Drywall Summit co-hosted by the Environmental Sustainability Alliance of the Research Coast and Indian River State College's Corporate & Community Training Institute on January 29, 2010 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
