Thomas Conrad is a partner in the firm's Commercial Litigation, Construction Litigation and Appellate practice groups. He represents clients in a wide range of matters, including business contracts, construction defects, legal and medical malpractice, and product liability. Mr. Conrad became a member of The Florida Bar in 1984 and he is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Conrad graduated with honors from the Florida State University College of Law in 1984, where he served as an Articles and Notes Editor on the Law Review and was a published author. He received the Lawyers Co-operative Publishing Book Awards in both Federal Practice and Procedure and in Professional Responsibility. Mr. Conrad earned a B.A. in Business Administration, cum laude, from the University of Washington in 1981 and he passed the Certified Public Accountant's examination in 1982.

Following graduation from law school, Mr. Conrad clerked for two years with Judge James Jorgenson of the Florida Third District Court of Appeals in Miami. He then became associated with several prominent south Florida law firms where he handled a wide range of civil trial and appellate matters. From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Conrad was a shareholder in his own firm, Heller & Conrad, P.A., where he specialized in insurance defense and construction defect litigation at the trial and appellate levels in state and federal courts.  Prior to joining Shapiro, Blasi, Wasserman & Gora, P.A., Mr. Conrad spent twelve years as a staff attorney for an international commercial liability carrier. As a chief trial attorney, Mr. Conrad defended a wide variety of complex litigated disputes, including construction defects, legal and medical malpractice, product liability, employment discrimination and RICO matters.

Mr. Conrad is a member of the South Palm Beach County Bar Association. Previously, he served as the President of the South Broward County Bar Association and he sat on the Broward County Bar Association Appellate Committee. In addition, Mr. Conrad has lectured on appellate and insurance claims handling issues.
